farm income for households than in the Northern<br />
districts for whom other activities such as local<br />
petty trade or small-scale manufacturing may be<br />

Figure 112 suggests that non-supported<br />
farmers are also the ones less integrated to<br />
cooperative or associative movements in their<br />
region. For instance, more than 50% of farmers<br />
in the control group (in both the Northern and<br />
Eastern region) were not part of a farming group<br />
or association account. This may imply that the<br />
targeting strategy of the implementing agencies<br />
mainly focused on individuals who are involved<br />
in collective actions or organised in groups.<br />
