Appendix C: Diagnostic Connector Locations
Mazda The Mazda diagnostic connector
is generally located on the left
side of the engine bay, however
the diagnostic connector on MX
5 models is located near the
brake master cylinder. The
J1962 is located in the driver’s
footwell under fascia.
Mercedes
Benz
Engine compartment - usually
along bulkhead, but the precise
location may vary.
Driver's footwell under the
steering column or the centre
console beneath a removable
panel.
Passenger's footwell under
fascia behind removable cover.
NOTE: For those vehicles which
have both the round 38-pin
connector and the OBD II
connector:
• The round 38-pin connector
should always be used to
retrieve data via the
Mercedes application.
• The OBD II connector should
always be used only to
retrieve data via the OBD II
application.
Some Mercedes vans have a
14-pin round connector which is
located under the passenger
side dashboard, other vehicles
may have the 16-pin OBD II
connector.
The 14 pin round connector
should always be used to
retrieve data via the Mercedes
application. It does not support
OBD II.
