Distilled water at 125F/52C, 750.0 ml<br />

Sodium sulfi te, 0.5 g<br />

Pyrocatechin, 3.2 g<br />

Sodium hydroxide, 10% solution, 10.0 ml<br />

Distilled water to make 1.0 liter<br />

Use either Dilution A or B undiluted. Develop for 12 to 15 minutes at 68F/20C.<br />

Caution: Dissolve the sodium hydroxide in a small volume of water in a separate container<br />

before adding it to the solution of the other constituents.<br />

Ansco 17<br />

Water at 125F/52C, 750.0 ml<br />

Metol, 1.5 g<br />

Sodium sulfi te, 80.0 g<br />

Hydroquinone, 3.0 g<br />

Borax, granular, 3.0 g<br />

Potassium bromide, 0.5 g<br />

Water to make 1.0 liter<br />

Use the same developing times as you would with Kodak D-76. As with D-76, this developer<br />

can be used 1:1 for sharper images with a slight increase in graininess.<br />

Ansco 17a<br />

Replenisher for Ansco 17<br />

Water at 125F/52C, 750.0 ml<br />

Metol, 2.2 g<br />

Sodium sulfi te, 80.0 g<br />

Hydroquinone, 4.5 g<br />

Borax, granular, 18.0 g<br />

Water to make 1.0 liter<br />

Add 20.0 ml of replenisher for each 80 2 inches fi lm developed. Maintain the original volume<br />

of the developer, discarding some used developer if necessary in order to add the necessary<br />

amount of replenisher. No increase in original developing time is necessary.
