Keelan’s Monobath<br />

Water, 500.0 ml<br />

Sodium sulfi te, 50.0 g<br />

Phenidone, 10.0 g<br />

Hydroquinone, 15.0 g<br />

Sodium thiosulfate, pentahydrate, 110.0 g<br />

Sodium hydroxide, 18.0 g<br />

Potassium alum, 18.0 g<br />

Water to make 1.0 liter<br />

Dissolve the alum separately and add to the solution after all the other ingredients are completely<br />

dissolved.<br />

Add the Phenidone to the water; do not mix. Add a pinch of hydroquinone and place<br />

the rest aside. Add the remaining ingredients in the order given. Mix well to dissolve the<br />

Phenidone. Add the remainder of the hydroquinone and then the alum.<br />

Caution: Dissolve the sodium hydroxide in a small volume of water in a separate container<br />

before adding it to the solution of the other constituents.<br />

Hydroquinone, 25.7 g<br />

Sodium thiosulfate, pentahydrate, 180.0 g<br />

Sodium hydroxide, 25.7 g<br />

Benzotriazole, 10.0 g<br />

Water to make 1.0 liter<br />

Caution: Dissolve the sodium hydroxide in a small volume of water in a separate container<br />

before adding it to the solution of the other constituents.
