BLEACHING SOLUTION A
Bichromate stock solution, 100.0 ml
Hydrochloric acid, concentrate, 2.4 ml
Distilled water to make 1.0 liter
BLEACHING SOLUTION B
Bichromate stock solution, 100.0 ml
Hydrochloric acid, concentrated, 12.0 ml
Distilled water to make 1.0 liter
The bleaching solution should be made fresh each time. Immerse the washed negative into
either of these solutions until it is entirely bleached, wash until the yellow stain is completely
removed, and redevelop in strong artifi cial or subdued daylight with a negative developer
such as Ilford ID-36. Wash thoroughly.
NOTE 1: The bichromate stock solution keeps indefi nitely.
NOTE 2: Solution A gives more intensifi cation than Solution B.
Caution: Always add the hydrochloric acid to the water slowly, stirring constantly, and never
add the water to the acid.

Silver Intensifi er
For fi ne-grain fi lm.
This formula gives proportional intensifi cation and is easily controlled by varying the time of treatment.
In-5 acts more rapidly and produces greater intensifi cation on fi ne-grain materials than on
coarse-grain materials. The formula is equally suited for positive and negative fi lm. It is the only
intensifi er known that will not change the color of the image on positive fi lm during projection.

Silver nitrate, 15.0 g
Distilled water to make 250.0 ml
* Store in a brown glass bottle.
STOCK SOLUTION #2
Sodium sulfi te, 15.0 g
Water to make 250.0 ml

Sodium thiosulfate, 26.0 g
