This developer was specially formulated for tabular and crystal grain fi lms. However, according<br />

to Crawley it can be used for traditional fi lms when “the fi nest grain is not the prime<br />

requirement.”<br />

Water at 125F/52C, 750.0 ml<br />

Sodium sulfi te, 60.0 g<br />

Hydroquinone, 5.0 g<br />

Sodium carbonate, anhydrous, 5.0 g<br />

Phenidone, 0.5 g<br />

Borax, 2.5 g<br />

Potassium bromide, 0.5 g<br />

Benzotriazole, 1% solution, 5.0 ml<br />

Water to make 1.0 liter<br />

Dilute 1:3 to 1:5. <strong>The</strong> higher dilution will increase fi lm speed.<br />

Developing times for 1:3 dilutions at 68F/20C:<br />

a corresponding increase in graininess.<br />
