Hewas born Aug. 9, 1950 in Wabash to Oren E. and Gertrude (Whiteman) Hays. Paul was a 1968 Wabash High School graduateand attended Greer Institute in Chicago studying Auto Body Mechanics. He married Jane Ostendorf in Wabash on Aug. 12,1978. He worked in the body shop at Dorais Chevrolet 12 years and was a machinist at Gen Corp in Wabash for 12 years,retiring in 2007. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was awarded four Meritorious Service commendationsand the Bronze Star. He was a life member of the VFW Post 2067 in <strong>Peru</strong>, a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15,Wabash Moose, and the Rebel Rousers Car Club. Paul's passion was cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed slot carracing, and going to auto shows. He is survived by his wife, Jane Hays of Wabash; two brothers, Tom (Susie) Hays of St.Louis, Mo., and Dr. Richard (Betty) Hays of Muncie, Ind.; and his sister, Ellen West of Huntertown, Ind. Funeral services willbe held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, on Friday, Nov. 11, <strong>2011</strong> at 2 p.m. with Fr.Sextus Don officiating. She was born Dec. 14, 1914 in Cass County, North Dakota, to Albert and Harriet (Marsh) Piper. She married John M.Morris on Nov. 8, 1943 in Fort Collins, Colo. who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1994. Ruth worked as a LPN for DukesMemorial Hospital in <strong>Peru</strong> and Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. She was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.She was also a member of the First Christian Church in <strong>Peru</strong> and Fort Myers Christian Church. Ruth is survived by her sons,Robert Morris and wife Pamela, Bunker Hill, Ind. and Ron Morris and wife Connie, Logansport, Ind.; a daughter, Paulette Idol,Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Piper; a sister,Verna Schatzke; a half-brother, Robert Piper; and a half-sister Marie Glasow. Arrangements arewith Good Family Funeral Home.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Wednesday, November 9, <strong>2011</strong>Warren Otis Angle, 68, formerly of <strong>Peru</strong>, died peacefully in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sept. 9, <strong>2011</strong>, after a long battle with cancer.He is survived by daughter Dana Kaplan-Angle, sister Ruth, brother Phil, brother-in-law Donn Kesler, former wife JanetKaplan, and partner Nancy Wright. Warren was a successful artist/sculptor who received his B.S. in art education fromManchester College and his M.F.A. in ceramics and sculpture from Ohio State University. After teaching briefly at WawaseeHigh School and Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, he joined the staff at Fleisher Art Memorial in SouthPhiladelphia, one of the nation's first community-based art centers. He retired as curator from there in 2010. Warren exhibitedhis work widely on the East Coast, both solo and group exhibitions, and won several awards. He also served as an arts advisorin the Philadelphia community. He was born in <strong>Peru</strong>, and his farm background informed his art, as he especially examined thedelicate balance between man and nature. Warren was a sophisticated and clever artist and curator who provided inspiration tostudents, faculty, and other artists. But above all, he was a generous, caring, creative and respected individual who left anindelible mark on the arts community in Philadelphia. A Celebration of Warren's life was held at Bartram Gardens on Oct. 29.Warren's daughter would especially appreciate any memories of Warren; they may be sent to her at 140 Monroe St., Apt. 4,Brooklyn, N.Y. 11216.
