<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Tuesday, August 23, <strong>2011</strong>Lillie Colwell, 67, <strong>Peru</strong>, died 1:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, <strong>2011</strong> at Dukes Hospital. She was born inCutchin, Ky. on Jan. 3, 1944 to George and Cora (Boggs) Turner. She married Clen Colwell Dec. 8, 1963and he survives. Lillie was a homemaker, formerly employed at Memcor, Olin, <strong>Peru</strong> Animal Shelter andthe <strong>Peru</strong> Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her family and friends, fishing, bowling and goingto garage sales. She is survived by her husband; four children, George (Julie) Colwell, <strong>Peru</strong>, Bill (Jill)Colwell, Greentown, Theresia (companion Rick Hunt) Pogue, <strong>Peru</strong>, Cathy (Frank) Jones, Garrett; eightgrandchildren, Angel Colwell, Tim Colwell, Michael Camp, Christopher Camp, Meghan Jones, ZakkaryColwell, Justin Colwell and Logan Colwell; and two sisters, Mae Boggs and Mallie Cress, both of Yeaddiss, Ky. Lillie waspreceded in death by her parents; and four sisters, Alice Lewis, Mary Turner, Sylvania Griffith and Callie Stith. A funeralservice will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., with Pastor Paul Boss officiating.Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Wayne, and Trafalgar, Ind. and mostrecently Tampa, Fla., joined her Lord and Savior on Aug. 18, <strong>2011</strong>. The world was honored when shewas born Sept. 10, 1910. A blessed child of God, devoted lover and feeder of the wild birds thatfrequented her yard, she lived her life with love, grace, dignity, and service to her Lord, her family, andthe community, an inspiration of faith and integrity to all who knew her. She was predeceased by herparents, Alvin Wheeler Bowyer and Rosa Etta Timmons Bowyer; her husband of sixty-four (64) years,Wilbur Herschel Neher; a son, John Richard (Dick) Neher; brothers, Anthony M. Bowyer, Alvin W.Bowyer, Jr., Theodore T. Bowyer; and sister, Clara Bowyer Minnick. She is survived by her children,Herschel “Dean” Neher (Judith) of Tampa, Fla., Rosemae Neher Townsend (Kenneth) of Trafalgar,Ind., James Alvin Neher (Lynn) of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Dick’s wife, Sherry Neher, of Ft. Wayne. She was “Grammie” tograndchildren, Rhonda Bruckman, Kelly Harrell (Brod,) Ellen Mae Paris (Rick,) Diana Beth Skoronsky (Jim,) Kristi Davisson(Craig,) Lee Townsend, Melissa Phelps (Bradley), and Rebecca Quaintance (Shaun), Angie James (Wes) and Charity Fesler.She was loved by her great-grandchildren Jon and Steven Bruckman (Emily), Kristin Reitz (Nathan) and Karinne Slezak(Zach), Meagan Wilmers (Craig), Amy Church, Brandy Harrell and Brittney Bridges (Casey), Ryan, Brandon, and KendallParis, Carolyn and Kathryn Davisson, Nathan and Hayley Quaintance, Nicholas Phelps, Caroline, Mary Wesley, and CharlesJames; and her great great-grandchildren, Brianna Paris, Jewellann and Brodrick Bridges, Ashur and Trinity Slezak, TylerWilmers. She has left her inprint on many beloved nieces and nephews. For years she worked as an “Avon Lady” and workedat Senger’s in <strong>Peru</strong>, Indiana. She served for 13 years as Miami County Chairman of the March of Dimes/Mothers’ March onPolio. A long-time member and Deaconess in the American Baptist Convention and Oakdale Baptist Church in <strong>Peru</strong>, shetaught the High School Sunday School classes for many years, sang in the choir, served as chair of the Spiritual GrowthCommittee both at the local and state association levels. She was president of the Missionary Society, president and secretaryof United Church Women at Oakdale Baptist Church, <strong>Peru</strong>, Ind., and in the local association. “Birdena” served on the SchoolBoard at <strong>Peru</strong>, Ind., and was president of the High School and County PTA in the <strong>Peru</strong>/Miami County areas. She was avolunteer for many years at Northwood Elementary in Franklin as a Grammie to kindergartners. Her life meant something toall who knew, served with, and loved her. She is missed by those who take comfort in knowing she is with the Lord. Acelebration of her almost 101 years will be held at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S.31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, Ind., on Saturday, Aug. 27th at 1 p.m. with interment following in Camden Cemetery inCamden, Ind. Calling hours will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the celebration at the mortuary.Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Association that supported her final days in Tampa, Fla. Information 317-738-0202.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Tuesday, August 23, <strong>2011</strong>Norma Jean Brown, nee Cape, 68, of Bourbon, Mo., formerly of Steelville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, <strong>2011</strong> atMissouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Mo. She was born Aug. 1, 1943 in Steelville to Wilbur Russell Cape and ElaineWilkerson Cape. Norma was united in marriage to Leon Brown and to this union two daughters were born. Norma grew up inSteelville and graduated from Steelville High School in 1961. She later moved and lived in different states and ended up inIndiana. In the late 90's, she moved back to her home area. Norma had been living in the Cuba Manor since December of 2007.Norma loved to read and especially her Bible. She also enjoyed working word search puzzles and watching game shows. Foryears, she loved collecting dishes and trinkets. She was known by her family for being very particular about her cars. Even as ayoung lady she always kept her cars cleaned and washed. Norma loved her children and grandchildren very much and theywere the light of her life. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Sherry Loshnowsky of<strong>Peru</strong>, Ind. and Sharon Donaldson, of Mexico, Ind.; three brothers, Wayne Cape and wife Sue of Cuba, Mo., Harold Cape and
