survives. John graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 1940. John was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WWII in the 366 Fighter Group and was an airplane mechanic. He was in Normandy just after D Day and fought in Belgium,Germany and England during the war. John was also a crew chief on a P47. He and his brother-in-law ran the Bob and John’sMobile Home Park and Sales much of his working career, until his retirement. He was a member of Parkview UnitedMethodist Church and was active in the life of the congregation and held many offices over the years including the buildingcommittee and administrative board. He served as a cub master and enjoyed taking the pack to Camp Buffalo. He also servedon the Zoning Board, was president of the Mobile Home Association and helped his wife do Meals on Wheels. He enjoyedhelping with and attending his class reunions and reunions of his 366 th Fighter Group. He loved playing games, especiallycards with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, particularly when he went to Hawaii and Europe. John is survived byhis children: daughter Marsha (husband Alan) Ash, <strong>Peru</strong>, daughter Deborah (husband Tim) Reidy, Fishers, son David (wifeCheryl) Childers, Ft. Wayne, and son Jeffery (wife Mindy) Childers, <strong>Peru</strong>. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Brad andAmy Ash, Scott and Jennifer Ash, Phillip and Rebekah Ash, Channa and Kraig Hammersley, Brent and Nicole Childers, SarahLowery, Edward Childers, Patrick Reidy, Emily Reidy and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, abrother Raymond, and four sisters: Vesta, Marjorie, Faye, and Lois. A funeral service will be held at Parkview UnitedMethodist Church, Monday, June 6, <strong>2011</strong> at 10 a.m. with Pastor Alan Ash and Pastor J. Robert Clark officiating. Burial will beat Mt. Ronnie really enjoyed fishing. He was considered by many that knew himto be a workaholic. He enjoyed working on small engines. Ronnie attended the Zion Chapel in <strong>Peru</strong>. Survivors include hiswife: Sondra Jackson, <strong>Peru</strong>; mother Melody Jackson, Akron; father Ronnie D. She enjoyed gardening and baking, especially cookies,and spending time with her two granddaughters.
