Mooney, 87, <strong>Peru</strong>, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Saturday, April 23, <strong>2011</strong> at Millers Merry Manor. She was born in<strong>Peru</strong> April 12, 1924 to John and Emma (Hiers) Chaplin. She married Chester Mooney on April 12, 1986 and he preceded her indeath on May 18, 1988. Virginia retired from United Technology, where she worked as a production operator. Virginia issurvived by her best friend, Esther Shipman, <strong>Peru</strong>; and her friends, Steve Shipman and wife Mary, Onward, and Karen SueSorril, <strong>Peru</strong>. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, three brothers and two sisters. A graveside service willtake place at 1 p.m. Thursday in Mount Hope Cemetery, <strong>Peru</strong>, with Pastor Tim Powers officiating. She was born Aug. 30, 1919 in HarrisonTownship, the daughter of Austin Earl Mishler and Sadie (Miller) Mishler. She was a lifetime Miami County resident andgraduated from Clay High School in 1937. She married Harold Moseley Feb. 14, 1942; he survives. She served for eight yearsas women’s leader for the Miami County Farm Bureau. She was a 4-H leader for several years. She attended First ChristianChurch, <strong>Peru</strong>. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Woodland Carving Club, Paws and Taws Square Dancing Club andGood Sams Camping Club. She enjoyed wintering in Mission, Texas for 13 years. She liked sewing and reading and assistedher husband, Harold, with the family farm. LaBounty, 86, <strong>Peru</strong> passed away at 2:04 a.m. on Friday, April 29, <strong>2011</strong>, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.Born Feb. 21, 1925 in <strong>Peru</strong>, he was the son of the late Dale James and Eva Garber LaBounty. On Sept. 7, 1957 in Fort Wayne,Ind. he was married to Lottie Wattenberg, and she preceded in death on Sept. 6, 2005. Mr. LaBounty graduated from <strong>Peru</strong>High School in 1943 and went on to join the US. Marine Corps during WWII. He served in Okinawa and Guadalcanal. As amember of the US Army Reserves, he was called to serve again during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the AmericanLegion, VFW and The Forty and Eight. In 1961, he graduated from IU with a B.S. in Business. He also was a licensed funeraldirector in Indiana and had held his license for over fifty years. From 1996-1999, he served on the <strong>Peru</strong> City Council. In 1994he was named <strong>Peru</strong> Citizen of the Year by the <strong>Peru</strong> Daily <strong>Tribune</strong>. He was member of the <strong>Peru</strong> Masonic Lodge and theScottish Rite, Fort Wayne Valley. Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Anderson and husband David, Crown Point, Indiana;two grandchildren, Jacob Anderson and Madeline Anderson, both of Indianapolis. Graveside services will be held at 11:30a.m. on Thursday, May 5, <strong>2011</strong> at Metzger Cemetery, Nead, Indiana with Rabbi Stanley Halpern.
