Phelps III, 26, <strong>Peru</strong>, died at 11:13 p.m. Friday, June 3, <strong>2011</strong>. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April7, 1985 to John W. Phelps Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Tina (Farmer) Phelps of <strong>Peru</strong>. Johnny was a student. He is survived byhis parents; a son, Trinton Michael, <strong>Peru</strong>; his brothers, Ronald Farmer, Erlanger, Ky., Scott Kirby, Cincinnati, Ohio, andDamian Phelps, <strong>Peru</strong>; his sisters, Tina Fatmer, <strong>Peru</strong>, Tiffany Warman, Hamilton, Ohio, and Jamie Warman, Hamilton, Ohio.He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Flowers-LeedyFuneral Home, 105 W. Third St., with Pastor Chris Duncan officiating. Born March 12, 1951 in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late Chester Junior and Mary Ellen BowmanEngland. On June 19, 1971 in Wolcott she was married to Charles “Chuck” Dwight Smith, and he survives. She grew up in theWolcott community and graduated from Wolcott High School in 1969. She was a member of the former Macy UnitedMethodist Church and currently attended Liberty Baptist Church in Rochester. She was a member of the Allen TownshipHome Economics Club for 39 years and had served as the County Home Economics President in 1989. She helped with theSoars Reading Program at North Miami Elementary School. Along with her husband, she was active and enjoyed participatingin events with several area tractor clubs. She was a bookkeeper and had worked in the community at several area businessesand churches. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Chuck, and her three children Jeff Smith and his wife Nicole,Macy; Chris Smith and his wife Crystal, Denver along with their children, Caitlin and Caleb; and Jerry Smith and fiancéHeather Barrett, Deedsville along with their son, Wyatt; one sister, Connie Hughes and her husband Jerry, Crawfordsville; hermother-in-law, Ethel M. Smith, Bunker Hill. She is also survived by five nieces, four nephews, and several cousins. One sister,June Sheets and her husband Fred preceded her in death. Overton of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Deborah L. Barnes of Sarasota, Fla., William “Bill” K. Overton of Warsaw, andMatthew “Matt” A. Overton and wife Rebecca Spencer Overton of <strong>Peru</strong>; her grandchildren: Jacob W. Overton, Ashley N.Malott and Andrew R. Overton; her siblings, Eleanor Jones Sturgeon, Washington; Ina Jones Helphenstine, Washington;Marilyn Jones Hurt, Chicago, Ill.; and Deanna Jones Powers, Vincennes. She was preceded in death by her parents and hersiblings: Delbert Jones, Orville Jones, Acel Jones, Mayme Jones Chapman, and Olive Jones Clements. The Reverend BillieFrances Jones Overton was a Minister and Evangelist for the International Deliverance Church of Dallas, Texas. She lived inNorthern Miami County for more than 50 years. In her earlier years she taught Sunday School and ministered to those in need.She continued to offer prayer work throughout her life. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at First Assemblyof God, 365 Monroe Ave, <strong>Peru</strong> at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, <strong>2011</strong> with Pastor John Thomas officiating. She wasborn in <strong>Peru</strong> Oct. 7, 1960, the daughter of Terry L. and Betty Schoolman Amos. She was married to Robert Davis and hepreceded her in death. Lori Ann was a 1979 graduate of <strong>Peru</strong> High School and was a mother and a homemaker. She issurvived by her mother and stepfather Betty and Lawrence Hedges of Kokomo; her father and step-mother Terry and AliceAmos of <strong>Peru</strong>; two sons, Christopher Burton and James Burton of Wesfield, and a daughter, Miranda Burton of Westfield;brothers, SFC Kirk Amos and his wife Mellisa of Ft. Bragg, NC and Clark Hedges of Greenwood; step-sisters Debra Draperand her husband Robert of Rachest, and Kathy Smith and her husband Mark of Tipton; step-brothers Gregory Sharp and hiswife Diane of <strong>Peru</strong> and Derek Sharp and his wife Kimberly of peru.
