Winters, 76, of Akron, Ind. passed away at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, <strong>2011</strong>. He was born in Miami CountyNov. 19, 1934 the son of Roy and Marie Ward Winters. Jim married Susie Carroll at the First Christian Church in <strong>Peru</strong> onSept. 15, 1963 and she survives. Jim was a U. S. Army veteran and a railroad employee for more than 40 years. His railroademployment began at the Nickel Plate Railroad and he ended his career as a conductor with Norfolk and Southern. Survivingin addition to his wife, Susie, are sons, Archie Winters and his wife Michelle of Warsaw, and Jim Guyer and his wife Marie of<strong>Peru</strong>; a daughter Marie Benzing and her husband Robert of Akron; grandchildren, Blake Winters, Alexis Winters, ThorBenzing, Corbin Benzing, Mariah Benzing, Jamey Guyer and Jeremiah Guyer; sisters, Ellen Fox and her husband Dick ofSpringfield, Ill., Annette Shelton and her husband Jim of <strong>Peru</strong>, Ind., and brothers, Gene Winters and his wife Diane of Mexico,Ind. and Jan Winters of <strong>Peru</strong> Ind. and a sister–in-law Brownie Winters of <strong>Peru</strong>, Ind.. He was preceded in death by his parentsand a brother, Earl Winters. A service celebrating the life of James R. Winters will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, <strong>2011</strong> atthe Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., <strong>Peru</strong>, with Pastor David Ross officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. HopeCemetery. Family and friends will gather from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. She was born inMontgomery County, Va., July 9, 1970, the daughter of William W. Duncan (deceased) and Mary H. (Hawks) Duncan, ofVirginia. She married Mark A. Reinhardt in 1995 and he survives. Angie was in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Air ForceReserve. She was a community representative for the American Cancer Society. Surviving in addition to her husband, Mark,and her mother Mary, is step-son Cory L. Reinhardt, <strong>Peru</strong>, and mother and father-in-law Blaine and Loretta Reinhardt, <strong>Peru</strong>.At the family's request, they would like if you have any pictures of Angie, to bring them to the memorial service and sharethem with family and friends. She attended <strong>Peru</strong> High School and Indiana State University and received a BAdegree in art education. She taught art in California for several years. She then worked as an interior designer and a graphicartist. She married John Snyder (deceased) in November of 1964, and they had a son Steven, of Arizona. She is survived byher son Steven; granddaughter Kiley Snyder, Arizona; sisters Roselyn Melaniphy of Chicago, and Catherine (Ted) Comerfordof <strong>Peru</strong>; brother Jim "Louie" Wise (deceased); and five nieces and nephews.
