Shewas born May 28, 1916 in Marion to Clarence and Edna Mae (Wolf) Wagoner. She married Donald Lenon Jan. 1, 1935 and hepreceded her in death Jan. 14, 2003. Leona was a member of the Peoria Church, the Butler Home Ec. Club and the PeoriaWomen’s Society. She was a homemaker. He married Margaret Louise Zartman on April 27,1946 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 2009. Leroy graduated from Deedsville High School in 1941. He was an avidfarmer who enjoyed a hard day’s work. He was a proud member of the North Miami school board for 13 years and missed onlyone meeting due to surgery while on the board. He was a member of the Perrysburg Baptist Church and attended DenverBaptist Church and enjoyed gardening, reading the paper and spending time with his grandchildren. For many years, he taughtthe men’s Sunday school class at the Perrysburg church. Those surviving include his sister, Jeanette Hunter, <strong>Peru</strong>; sisters-inlaw,Harriet Zartman and Sue Mitchell; children, Linda Mills, Indianapolis, Jan Pike and spouse Jim, Indianapolis, Curt andwife Barbara Mills, Macy, Kent and wife Sharon Mills, Denver; grandchildren, Jessica Pike, Indianapolis, Adam Pike,Indianapolis, and Nathan Vandermak, Denver, Myranda Rusie, Portland, Oreg.; one great-grandchil and several nieces andnephews. His parents, his brothers, Richard Mills and Myron Mills, sister, Arlene Balsbaugh and his wife of 63 years,Margaret Mills, precede him in death. He was a member of the <strong>Peru</strong> Masonic Lodge, enjoyedplaying guitar and was proud of his pilot license. Bill was born at home inDenver, Ind. the son of Winifred and Clinton Grimes and brother to Robert (Bob) and James (Jim) Grimes. Bill graduatedfrom <strong>Peru</strong> High School and attended Purdue University till he joined the U.S. Army. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps inWWII beginning as an aircraft mechanic, later becoming a pilot, being awarded the distinguished Flying Cross and the AirMedal. After WWII, Bill was a test pilot at the Landing Aids Experiment Station in Arcata, Calif. In the earlier 1950s, Billbegan working as a commercial pilot for Eastern Airlines until he retired in 1980. Bill married Bonnie Green on July 17, 1948in Eureka, Calif., and she preceded him in death in 2001. Bill is survived by his brother Jim Grimes: children Randy Grimes,Paul Grimes, Carla Opel, Brian Grimes, and Jan Grimes and grandchildren Matthew and Jennifer Opel, and Michael and TaraGrimes. On June 18, 1971, in <strong>Peru</strong>, he was married toCarol Rosengrant, who survives in Logansport. A 1967 graduate of <strong>Peru</strong> High School, Bob had been a realtor with Century 21
in Logansport. He also attended Purdue and received an associate degree in 1970 from Ivy Tech. He was a member of the CassCounty Realtors and Saint James Lutheran Church. Bob was a Chicago Bears fan, and an avid bowler. He enjoyed golfing andfishing and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Eldridge, Noblesville; daughter,Jennifer (Jason) Sweet, Logansport; brother, Richard Eldridge, <strong>Peru</strong>; sisters, Sheri Moore and Darcy (Bruce) Ashby, all ofLogansport; grandchildren, Kyleigh Sweet, Kendall Sweet, Easton Sweet and Mallory Eldridge, along with a number of niecesand nephews. Clark, 58, <strong>Peru</strong> was taken home by his Lord Jesus Christ at 5:45 p.m. on July 16, <strong>2011</strong> at Saint Joseph Hospital inKokomo. He was born Sept. 30, 1952, in <strong>Peru</strong>, to Wilma L. (Draving) Clark and Robert L. Clark Sr. William married his highschool sweetheart, T. Maxine (Houk) Clark on July 12, 1975. She survives. William served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S.Independence during the Vietnam era, he also worked at CR Metal in <strong>Peru</strong>, for 19 and a half years, where he worked as afoundry quality analyst. He then went to work for Chrysler Kokomo Transmission plant in 1995, where he was employed as afork truck driver. He was a proud member of UAW Local 685. William attended and was an avid member of the chapel ofpraise and loved his church family. He loved and adored spending time with his grandkids and date nights with his wife! Healso enjoyed taking care of the landscaping of the chapel of praise. William also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Sportster.He is survived by his wife, one daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Robert Moreraft, <strong>Peru</strong>; one son and daughter-in-law, Pauland Nicole Clark, <strong>Peru</strong>. Doug was born on Dec. 31, 1955 in London, England, the son of Robert C. and Maureen Pollard Howlette. He moved toSouth Africa from England when he was 17 years old, as his dream was to play or be involved in soccer. While in South Africahe married and had two children. He accomplished his dream playing professional soccer while in South Africa and helpedestablished the first racially mixed soccer league there in the 1970's. Doug moved to the United States in 1998, amicablydivorced soon thereafter, and met his wife Susan, in 2003 in Kennesaw Ga., and they were married January 20, 2005. Heworked for the United States Soccer Academy, and took 180 young soccer players to Europe on tours to compete in JuniorWorld Youth Cups. Doug and his wife Susan moved to Indiana in 2005 and he was currently employed as a Recreation Leaderat the Miami Correctional Facility, where he was named the employee of the month for July 2009. He has served as the headcoach of the Maconaquah Boys Soccer Team since 2007 and in 2010 they completed their most successful season winning theSectional Tournament. Surviving in addition to his wife, Susan, are his children, Tammy Howlette and Jonathan Howlette ofKennesaw Ga. and his step son Scott Handy of Kokomo; grandson, Joshua Howlette, and step grandsons, Nick Handy andNolan Handy; a sister.
