He was born Jan. 4, 1985 to Katy SmithYoung and Mark Smith. Christopher attended Warren Central High School, where he played football. He traveled around theU.S. and to Aruba, as a professional paintball player, playing for the “Stone Assassins” out of Los Angeles, Calif. His otherhobbies included basketball, attending sporting events and concerts and playing with his nephews. Chris is survived by hismother, Katy Young (Mike); father, Mark Smith (Kathy); brother, Jason Smith; sister, Laura “Lolo” Smith (Darin Brooks);grandparents, Barbara Harmon and Dan Murillo; great-grandmother, Mary Daily; stepbrothers, Eric Young and Jarod Morgan;stepsister, Kadee Morgan; girlfriend Tabitha Smock and her children, Mikayla and Mason, and several aunts and uncles. He was born in Harlan County,Ky., to Marsh and Bertha (Boggs) Browning. He married Christine Madden on April 8, 1952 and she preceded him in death onDec. 27, 2002. Aaron served in the U.S. Army and was a retired hod carrier for the Labors and Union No.274 in Lafayette. Hewas a member of the Zion Chapel Church and enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his brothers, Asbel (Lorraine) Browning,Pine Mountain, Ky., Jim Browning, Denver, and Marsh (Juanita) Browning, <strong>Peru</strong>; and his sisters, Lola (Dan) Jordan, Roann,and Rose (Tom) Appleton, <strong>Peru</strong>. Several nieces and nephews also survive, including Betty (Terry) Gentry, Denver, Peggy(Ralph) McQuinn, Macy, Jennie Lester, Lexington, Ky., Donald Browning, Lowell, Ky., and Marty (Melody) Browning,Denver. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers, Donald, Aster, and Levi Browning; and a sister,Wanda Rogers. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., withPastor George Dinkel and Pastor Donald Browning officiating. Born Sept. 22, 1923, in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Oran William and Ruth Hazel IrvinRobbins. She was married to Russell Eugene “Buck” Johnson on June 28, 1947, in Twelve Mile; he preceded her in death inFebruary 1976. She was an active member of Skinner Worship Chapel, near Twelve Mile. She was also a member of theDaughters of the American Revolution, Cass County and Indiana Retired Teachers, Colonial Dames, XVII Century, and theSociety of Mayflower Descendants. After graduating from Twelve Mile High School, Phyllis attended Indiana University inBloomington, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She then returned to IU after teaching for severalyears to get her master’s degree in education. She retired in 1988 from Logansport High School, having taught businesseducation. She began her career in teaching at Mays High School. While in Rush County, she met the man that would becomeher husband and later moved back to her hometown and began teaching at nearby Chili High School, which later incorporatedinto North Miami High School. Phyllis was a talented musician and enjoyed sharing her piano skills at church and with theOver-the-Hill Gang. Phyllis was a very active member of the Twelve Mile community. She wrote for many years for the MilePost and was very active in recording the history of her family and Cass County. Survivors include three sons, Robert W.Johnson and wife Gale, Carmel; Richard W. Johnson and wife Bobbi, <strong>Peru</strong>; and Thomas R. Johnson, Twelve Mile; threegrandsons, Benjamin T. Johnson, Fort Wayne; Christian R. Johnson, Kokomo; and Michael P. Johnson, Greenwood. She waspreceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Rusk and Marilyn Faudskar; and a brother, William Robbins. Funeral services will beheld at 2 p.m. Saturday at Skinner Worship Chapel, near Twelve Mile, with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating. Burial will followin the church cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. before the funeral at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorialcontributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital. Born July 9, 1958,in Denison, Iowa, he was the son of Forest L. and Korleen Dean Flannery. On June 18, 1978, in <strong>Peru</strong>, he was married toDeborah Lou Rogers, and she survives. Dean graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1976. He then joined the U.S.Air Force and proudly served until 1980. Dean owned and operated MCM Machine Company and Lanjax Trophies andEngravings, both of rural Denver. He was a proud member of the NRA. Dean loved animals and enjoyed taking care of his
