was a semi-truck driver for 43 years. He also operated a trucking service for several years. He fascinated his family with storiesof his trucking days. He also enjoyed fishing, motorcycling and snowmobiling. He was a member of Howard-MiamiMennonite Church where he served in various positions. The position he enjoyed most was serving as custodian. Carl andEsther served in that position for more than 20 years. Carl also enjoyed going to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildrenparticipate in their sporting events. Carl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived byhis son, Dean Swartzentruber and his wife Cleona of Fishers, Ill.; a daughter, Clarajean Sommers and her husband Roger ofMcGrawsville; six grandchildren, Christina and Kevin Gingerich of Kokomo, Ind., Ryan and Linda Sommers of South Bend,Ind., Robert and Kristin Sommers of Sweetser, Ind., Josh and Gretchen Swartzentruber of Normal, Ill., Andy and JillSwartzentruber of Fisher, Ill., and Heidi and Dave McGregor of Lovington, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Kathryn JeanGingerich, Kindra Gingerich, Carl Gingerich, Samuel Sommers, Brayden Sommers, Anika Sommers, Addison Stotler, ElexisSwartzentruber, Ethan Swartzentruber, Logan Swartzentruber, Jake McGregor and Avery McGregor. He was preceded indeath by his parents, his wife, Esther, and a sister Vesta Hochstedler Miller. A service celebrating the life of Carl E.Swartzentruber will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25, <strong>2011</strong> at the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church, 3976 E. 1400 S., Kokomo,Ind., with Pastors Randy Detweiler and Lee Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery. Family and friends willgather from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Howard-Miami Mennonite Church. Born April 5, 1930 in Frankfort, Ind., she was thedaughter of Lossie R. and Bessie E. Klotz Lambert. On Oct. 2, 1949 in Frankfort, Ind. she was married to Phillip LyndDelawder, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, <strong>2011</strong>. She was active in the Macy Methodist Church, Macy Firefighter’sAuxiliary, and the rest of the community. She loved to travel and meet new people. Every stranger was just a friend she hadn’tmet yet. Survivors include four daughters, Marsha Lynn Adams and husband Richard of Hideaway, Texas; Nancy KayeEppert and husband John, Independence, Mo.; Karen Sue Wilhelm and husband Mark, Perrysburg, Ind.; and Judy AnnDelawder, Stockdale, Ind.; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren;and three brothers, Ed Lambert and wife Betty, Scottsdale, Ariz.; John Lambert and wife Pat; Mineola, Texas; and BillLambert and wife Alex, Saugus, Calif. Memorialcontributions are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Sunday, September 18, <strong>2011</strong>James Stephen Loy, 50, of 2177 Broadway road, Milton, Pa., died Saturday, Sept. 17, <strong>2011</strong>, following a massive heart attack.Born Jan. 30, 1961, in Terre Haute, Ind., he was the son of the late William A. Loy and Anne (Rooney) Loy, who survives. Heand his wife of 21 years, the former Gretchen Althouse, were married on April 21, 1990. Being the son of Air Force Lt. Col.William A. Loy, he benefited from his father’s overseas assignments, living in Taipei, Taiwan, and Izmir, Turkey, along withMichigan, Texas, South Carolina and Missouri. The family settled in <strong>Peru</strong>, Ind., when he was in eighth grade. Mr. Loy was agraduate of <strong>Peru</strong> High School and attended Vincennes University. He served in the U.S. Army for four years reaching the rankof MP Sergeant. He began his 21 year career with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons at Marion Penitentiary in Indiana,transferring to Lewisburg Penitentiary, Pennsylvania, where he served on SORT (Special Operations Response Team) assistingwith out of state emergencies. He was Lead Firearms Instructor at Lewisburg Penitentiary and had recently been teachingfirearms to Pennsylvania State Constables. Upon retiring from the BOP he joined Dyncorp through the U.S. State Departmentperforming high risk duties including security and training locals in Afghanistan in 2005. Upon his return from Afghanistan, hewas elected State Constable in Limestone Township holding that position until his death. In his spare time, Jim enjoyedrunning, visiting new places, being a strong Notre Dame football fan (his father’s alma mater) and spending time with hisfamily and pets. He was involved with Mixed Martial Arts Shows locally and on a national level. He was a founding memberof the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Constables. Jim was a volunteer at RiverWoods Senior Living Community for 15 years.He loved and adored his wife and children, who will miss him greatly. He was a true U.S. patriot who loved his country. Inaddition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Brittney and Ashley, both at home; a brother and sister-inlaw,Thomas and Sallie Loy of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister and brother-in-law, Lee Anne and Edward Reindl of Indianapolis, anda niece and nephew, Julia and William Reindl. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s RomanCatholic Church, 109 Broadway St. Milton, Pa., officiated by the Rev. Thomas A. Scala. Burial with full military honors willbe held at 9 a.m. Friday at Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, Virginia.
