He was born on May 11, 1946 in Amboy, the son of Ralph and Lucille Sommers Mygrant. Darlmarried Sharon Kneram on Sept. 6, 1975 in <strong>Peru</strong> and she survives. A 1965 graduate of Oak Hill HighSchool, Darl was a member of the Old Cross Road Baptist Church, Gilead. A U.S. Army veteran, Darl wasa paratrooper and served in Vietnam. His military decorations include the National Defense Service Medal,the Parachute Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army CommendationMedal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Republic of VietnamCampaign Ribbon. He was a member of the Rochester American Legion, the VFW Post #1343, the MooseLodge #1107, the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Association and the <strong>Peru</strong> Maennerchor. He was aformer member of the Amboy Volunteer Fire Department and the Boy Scouts. He was employed byChrysler Corp. for 37 years and worked 6 years for the Miami Correctional Facility. Donald retired in 1986 from <strong>Peru</strong> Community Schools after 28 years as head of themath department. Prior to that he taught at Bunker Hill High School and various other high schools during his 42 year teachingcareer. He also spent several years as a salesman in the Indianapolis area for Standard Oil. He served in the U.S. Army-AirCorp from 1941 until 1945 and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Service Medal. Donald was a member ofthe Manchester Church of the Brethren. He graduated from Lagro High School in 1937 and attended Manchester College from1938 to 1941. He graduated from Manchester College in 1947 with a bachelor of art degree in mathematics and earned amaster of science in education from Purdue University. He was a member of the <strong>Peru</strong> Lions Club, Wabash County RetiredTeachers Association, North Manchester Historical Society, Wabash County Genealogical Society, and the Eighth Air Force487 Bomb Group Historical Society. He was a former member of the <strong>Peru</strong> Church of the Brethren where he served as treasurerand deacon for 24 years. He enjoyed camping, traveling with family and woodworking. He is survived by his wife; sons, Karl(Elaine) Stone, Gettysburg, Penn. He was born January 31, 1938 in <strong>Peru</strong>, Indiana. Bill graduated from <strong>Peru</strong> High School in 1956 andreceived a BS in Chemical Engineering from Tri-State College in 1959. Bill went to work for Goodyear in Akron, Ohio, beforemoving to Marion to work at General Tire. Through his community and political activities, he transitioned into the insuranceindustry where he spent more than 30 years in many capacities. He provided a valuable service to local businesses,government, and consumers while enriching the lives of numerous employees. Bill finished out his career as a key member ofInsurance Management Group in Marion, Indiana. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Christina; sons, Vincent (wife, Nancy)Sumpter, Scott Mendoza; daughters, Carol Sumpter and Anna (Mendoza) (husband, Aaron) Easton; grandchildren, ArielSumpter, Audrey Sumpter, Christen Dotson, Amanda Dotson (fiancé Derrick Van Dusen), Ruthann (Noblitt) Sumpter andfuture grandson, Mauro Joseph Easton.
