Wegert, 68 of Jonesboro, Ark. entered into eternal rest Sept. 4, <strong>2011</strong> at NEA Baptist Hospital, Jonesboro, with herfamily at her side. Mary was born Nov. 3, 1942 in North Judson, Ind. and was raised on a farm outside Knox, Ind. Sheattended Ball State Teachers College in 1961 before transferring to Arkansas State University, where she received a BSE in1964, and a Masters Degree in Special Education in 1967. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma. After college shetaught one year in Indiana before moving back to Jonesboro to teach at Jonesboro Public School for 31 years until she retired in1997. During her tenure with Jonesboro Public School system she taught special education before becoming the Director ofSpecial Education. During her career she was very active in various state committees, helping to set up policies and guidelinesfor special education. She was in Who's Who of American Women 1975-76. She was a member of the Arkansas Association ofEducation where she held various chairmanships. Mary was also a member of the Arkansas Association of Public Continuingand Adult Education, where she served as president in 1971-72. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Alumnus Award,College of Special Education and Communicative Disorders from Arkansas State University in 1991. She was a lovingsupporter of the HopeCircle with NEA Baptist Charitable Foundation and the Cancer Support Group at First United MethodistChurch of Jonesboro. She also participated in different avocations like needlework, and outdoor recreational activities. She wasa long time member of the First Christian Church of Jonesboro, where she sang in the choir. Mary was preceded in death byher parents, Adam Alford and Lucy Fletcher Hardel, and a sister, Esther Mae Hardel Woods. Survivors include her husband of46 years, Dennis Harold Wegert, 1706 Hazelwood Ct., Jonesboro, Ark. 72401 (married December 12, 1964); one sister, RuthLouise Hardel Verbois. Shrock, 91, Kokomo, died at 8:19 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12, <strong>2011</strong> at Howard RegionalHealth Systems, Kokomo. He was born April 27, 1920 in Kokomo to Harry B. and Ella (Sommers)Shrock. He married Viola M. (Williams) Shrock on March 18, 1949 in Kokomo and she preceded himin death on July 10, 2000. Kenneth owned and operated Shrock's Dri-Gas in Plevna from September1948 until retirement in September 1990. He graduated from Greentown High School in 1938, andserved in the U.S. Navy during WWII. A 50 year member of Greentown Lodge $341, a 49 yearmember of Greentown Lions with 46 years, the American Legion Post #317 and past commander, hewas also a deacon and Elder of Meridian Street Christian Church, president of the Eastern SchoolBoard the year of the 1965 tornadoes and member of Meridian Street Christian Church. Kenneth is survived by a daughter,Sandra O'Reilly, Kokomo and sister Miriam Haun, Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Viola; sonRichard Shrock; son in law Tim O'Reilly; brothers James, Emerson, Verl Shrock and sister Pauline Miller. A funeral servicewill be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at Meridian Street Christian Church, 205 N. Meridian St., Greentown, with pastorsBruce Mumaw and Kevin Sparling. Dorothy was born in <strong>Peru</strong>, Ind.in 1929 in the family farmhouse to the late Ida Langdon Mort and Elbert Mort. She graduated from <strong>Peru</strong> High School in 1948and married Richard Life, her high school sweetheart, on June 17, 1951. Mr. Life, president of Wabash Valley Bank, precededDorothy in death on December 2, 1978. They had three children, Linda, Susan, and William. Dorothy was a homemaker andwas involved in many activities including <strong>Peru</strong> Art Club, Miami County Symphony Unit Board, Tri Kappa Associates, andJefferson Town & Country HEC. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a volunteer at Gateway Center. Sheenjoyed working outside maintaining their property on Highland Place and playing golf with friends. Dorothy loved to recalltimes on the farm with Granny, Granddad and Pope and her beloved animals. She never forgot fun times at the <strong>Peru</strong> HighSchool canteen and being a member of the PHS Band where she played percussion. Memories of the "three Dorothys" (Kunkle,Redmon and "Toots") and Evelyn Malouf were golden. In 1993 "Grandma Dot" built a second home in Fort Collins, Colo. tospend more time with family. She eventually moved to Fort Collins permanently where she enjoyed dinners out, shopping andspending time with family. She loved the view from her patio home where she enjoyed a spectacular panorama of the RockyMountains, her neighborhood golf course and park. She delighted being around animals, and she especially treasured visitswith her children and six grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Life and abrother-in-law, Jack B. Jackson. She is survived by her children, daughters Linda Avery of Donald, Ore. (husband CharlesAvery) and Susan Life-Ostendorf (husband Mark Ostendorf), of Fort Collins, Colorado, and William Life (wife SarahCoughtrie) of Toledo, Ohio. Grandchildren include Audra Smith of Portland, Richard and William Ostendorf of Fort Collins,
