Weideman, 85, <strong>Peru</strong>, passed away Thursday, April 21, <strong>2011</strong> at 12 p.m. at the home of his daughter. Funeralarrangements are pending at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Saturday, April 23, <strong>2011</strong>Alfreda (Freddie) Eckelbarger, 77, went to be with her Lord on April 20, <strong>2011</strong>, at Miller’s Merry Manor in <strong>Peru</strong>. She wasborn Feb. 4, 1934, in Moskowitz in the Czech Republic to the late Josef and Ernestine Krat Schman, where they lived in theCzech Republic until 1946. She and her family were forced out of their homeland after the war to live in Germany. Hermarriage to Jerry Eckelbarger, who survives, was in Neureut Germany. Freddie and Jerry and sons moved to the United Statesin 1957. She retired in 1993 from Delco. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed cooking, flowers and working in hergarden. Survivors include three sons Helmut and John of <strong>Peru</strong>, Joe and wife, Troy, of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildrenMelisa and Justin; one great grandchild, Caden, one sister, Hilda Duncan, of Bunker Hill, and several nieces and nephews. Shewas preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. A service will be held Saturday, April 23, <strong>2011</strong>, at 1 p.m. atthe Mexico Baptist Church, 4088 N. Carrol St., Mexico. Memorials may be made to the Mexico First Baptist Church.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Saturday, April 23, <strong>2011</strong>David Dean Stangle, 71, Kewanna, made his final round in the field of life and went into the arms of his Savior at 6:35 a.m.,Wednesday, April 20, <strong>2011</strong>, in the Rochester Life Care Center with his son holding his hand. Dave was born on May 28, 1939in Cass County to Cecil and Dorothy (Watson) Stangle who both preceded him in death. On March 4, 1962, Dave married hishigh school sweetheart, Mary Jane Woodke, at Helm St. Church of God in Logansport. She survives. Dave was a 1958 StarCity High School graduate. A farmer all his life, Dave also had a passion for big, earth moving equipment. As a teenager Daveoperated a crane and helped dredge out Lake Manitou. Dave was probably best known as the driver of a Minneapolis Molinetractor by the name of "Solid Junk". Dave was National points champion for three years. Dave was greatly honored to beinducted into the NTPA Hall of Fame in 1997. Dave was a past supervisor of Fulton Co. Soil & Water Conservation District, a40 plus active and faithful member of Winamac Nazarene church, Fulton County Historical Power Assoc., Prairie Gold Rush,IH collectors-Chapter 33, Richland Center Tractor Pullers, Indiana Pullers Inc., M & M Collectors, and a Pfister seed cornsalesman for over 40 yrs. Dave was a jack of all trades, could fix anything and tell you a joke at the drop of a hat, never met astranger and had a true love for people. Dave truly enjoyed and thoroughly loved his family & friends, driving his decked outM&M golf cart and just enjoying the blessed life the Lord had given him. Dave was always ready with a smile.Survived by his wife, Mary Jane of 49 years; daughter, Janie (Troy) Hattery, and their children, Dean & Melinda Hattery all of<strong>Peru</strong>; daughter, Jenny (Wade) Cohagan, & their daughter, Ellie all of Monticello; son David Cecil (Dawn) Stangle and theirson David Dean Stangle and her daughters McKenna & Rebecca all of Kewanna. He is also survived by a brother Edwin(Bette) Stangle of Monticello and a sister Joan (Lester- deceased) Piercy of Mesa, Ariz. Visitation will be Monday April 25,<strong>2011</strong>, from 2-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the Winamac Church of the Nazarene, 516 E 13th ST. (HWY 14)Funeral will be 11 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, April 26, the church with the Rev. Daniel Burgess officiating. Burial will be at theBruce Lake Cemetery in rural Kewanna. Third St.<strong>Peru</strong> <strong>Tribune</strong>, The (IN) - Saturday, April 23, <strong>2011</strong>Irene (Bontrager) Miller, 89, Greentown, died at 9:50 a.m. Friday, April 22, <strong>2011</strong> in the Saint Joseph emergency room,Kokomo. She was born in Hope, Mich., on Oct. 16, 1921 to Joseph A. and Mary (troyer) Bontrager. She married Menno“Stick” O. Miller on Oct. 24, 1943 in Amboy and he survives. She was a charter member of Parkview Mennonite Church andGood Sam’s club. She was an exquisite quilter and needle worker, baker, gardener. She loved her flowers. Irene was devoted toher husband of 67 years, family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida and Arizona. Irene issurvived by her hudsband, Menno; her children, Gary Ray Miller, Kaufman, Texas, and Ruth Ann (Mobley) Miller, Kokomo;sister, Gladys (Bontrager) McAninch, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Chad Miller, Kokomo, Samuel Young, Lafayette, ShellieMiller, Noblesville and Aaron Miller, Lafayette; three sister in laws, Celesta Bontrager, Middlebury, Lydia Bontrager,Arlington, Wash., Alice Bontrager, Taylors, South Carolina; and 44 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by herparents; her son, Donald Eugene Miller; her brothers, Raymond Bontrager, Melvin Bontrager, Floyd Bontrager, CletusBontrager; and her sistyer, Velma (Bontrager) Wynn. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Howard-MiamiMennonite Church, Howard County, with Jacob and Lillian Elias and Lee Miller officiating. Burial will take place in ChristnerCemetery. Friends may call at Howard-Miami Mennonite Church from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday.
