her younger years, she was a “toe,” or ballet dancer. She was a homemaker and lovingly raised five children with her husband.She lived most of her life in Miami County. She was active in the American Legion auxiliary for many years and was a pastpresident. She owned The Yarnery in <strong>Peru</strong> for several years, where she taught crocheting and sold yarn and related items. Sheloved to crochet, and all her children and grandchildren have beautiful remembrances of her handiwork, in particular herafghans, slippers and baby blankets. She also crocheted baby caps and donated them to Riley Hospital. She enjoyed reading,sewing, playing cards and especially loved playing Bingo. And she was “famous” for her fudge and devil’s food cake withcaramel frosting. “Peg” was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lemoine, on Aug.30, 1998; a son, Danny, on July 11, 2002; and an infant great-grandson, Trenton Cardwell. Also preceding her in death were asister, Mary Raymer, and a brother, Richard Daly. She is survived by four daughters, Sue Craft, West Lafayette, Sherri (Gene)Throop, Bristow, Shannon (Jon) Eisaman, <strong>Peru</strong> and Star (Berman) Parson, Roann; and a daughter-in-law, ElizabethBurkholder, Kokomo. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six greatgreat-grandchildren.Two sisters, Pat Barta (Gene) of Vero Beach, Fla., Rita Wilson, of Columbus; a brother, David Daly, ofLittleton, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Helen Thomas, of Marion; a “special” niece, Patty Patton, of Wabash, also survive, as wellas many other step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to Riley Hospital orthe American Cancer Society. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Kreutzer, 88, our beloved father and husband, formerly of <strong>Peru</strong>, passed away at 11:20 a.m., Sunday, March 20,<strong>2011</strong> in Indianapolis. He was born in <strong>Peru</strong> on Oct. 29, 1922, the son of John B. and Elba (Ord) Kreutzer. Bob married KathrynJones in St. Charles Catholic Church in <strong>Peru</strong> in 1946 and she survives. A 1942 graduate of <strong>Peru</strong> High School and a member ofAmerica's greatest generation, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was a World War II veteran. His military decorationsinclude the American Arena Service Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon, the PhilippineLiberation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After the war, Bob returned home and worked in the Kreutzer family businessand also served as post master in <strong>Peru</strong>. He loved singing in the St. Charles Choir for more than 50 years and being a member ofthe Ole Olson Theater. He served his community in numerous positions on the City Council, Chamber of Commerce, the RedCross, and served on the Parish Council of the St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a member of the American Legion, theElks Club and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Paul A. Welsh Assembly No.2146. He is survived by his wife of 64
