The effect size provides a statistic which allows comparisonacross variables.Results:National Demonstration ProjectUsing the structural break analysis, there was a statistically significantchange in trend in the predicted direction for all seven variables duringthe experimental period. Using two-tailed tests during the controlyears, there were no significant changes, except the Quality of LifeIndex which changed in the wrong direction (worsening of quality oflife). Using one-tailed tests during the control year, media changed inthe predicted direction (increased positivity).
