He has not offered conjecturesand hypotheses about reality and human potential, nor does heset himself up as a final authority on matters of knowledge when hespeaks rather of experience as the ultimate basis of knowledge. Theexperience of which he has spoken is derived from a new source, fromthe level of fully developed human life gained when one’s awarenessis open to the unified field of pure consciousness. Maharishi’s life isan example of that which he taught. Unlike those whose teaching isbased solely on the personal authority of the individual, Maharishihas founded universities, sciences, technologies, and other institutionsbased on universal principles through which any individual can gainthe direct experience of the fully unfolded nature of life and validatethe truth of what is described in the science. Because of this, Maharishiis held in highest esteem by millions of people around the world.Maharishi has provided the means of unfolding the dormant creativegenius within everyone, and he has established institutionsthrough which the knowledge of how to unfold this potential will beperpetuated generation after generation. He has, moreover, used thisknowledge to found programs to create perfect health, progress, prosperity,and permanent peace for the world—programs to end sufferingand allow life to be lived in spontaneous accord with natural law. Theseinstitutions are not just ideals, but functioning institutions whose practicalachievements are now well documented and available for all toexamine.Everyone now has the ability, with the availability of the TranscendentalMeditation and TM-Sidhi programs, including Yogic Flying,to engage in this great experiment of identifying one’s awareness withthe total potential of natural law and to spontaneously live in accordwith all the laws of nature while established in the awareness of theunified field of pure consciousness. The experience of approximatelythree million people who have learned the Transcendental Meditationtechnique testifies to its practicality and its effortlessness and ease ofpractice. Experimental studies have shown that its benefits are realand concrete. On this basis, Maharishi has foreseen the creation of anew era of civilization—Heaven on Earth—in which life will be lived602
