These laws of nature formallyexpress the order and intelligence inherent in natural phenomena. Ifthere were no laws of nature, there would be no consistent patterns ofbehavior, and nature would be unintelligible. If, as particle physicistsbelieve, all the laws of nature have their dynamical origin in the unifiedfield, then the unified field must itself embody the total intelligence ofnature’s functioning. 34Thus, when we consider approaching the issue of human securityon both individual and global levels, we should access the organizingpower and inherent intelligence of natural law itself, which is alwaysfunctioning in nature to maintain orderliness and harmony among itsconstituent parts. When this same intelligence is enlivened in individualawareness and on the level of society, it is capable of creating coherence,which will disallow harmful influences of narrow thinking, stress, andfatigue, to overwhelm the good intentions of people everywhere.64
