Nidich, Ed.D., is pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> education, and physiology andhealth, at <strong>Maharishi</strong> <strong>University</strong> Management. Dr. Nidich received hisdoctoral degree from the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cincinnati in 1975 and taughtpsychology at Rogers Williams College in RI. Dr. Nidich is a pioneeringresearcher in <strong>Consciousness</strong>-<strong>Based</strong> education, having conductedstudies over the past 40 years in schools and colleges in the U.S. andaround the world. Dr. Nidich conducted the first psychological researchon Transcendental Meditation in 1972 in the area <strong>of</strong> self-actualization,published in the Journal <strong>of</strong> Counseling Psychology. Since that initial studyhe has conducted numerous studies on student personal developmentand academic achievement. Dr. Nidich has been a principal investigatoror co-investigator on over 20 privately funded and federally fundedgrants in the fields <strong>of</strong> education and health.Randi Jeanne Nidich, Ed.D., is adjunct associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> educationat <strong>Maharishi</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Management. She received her doctoratein foundations <strong>of</strong> education from the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cincinnati in 1985and taught full-time at <strong>Maharishi</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Management for 10years. She has published key research in the areas <strong>of</strong> school climate andstudent moral development in the U.S. and the Philippines. Dr. Nidichis the co-author <strong>of</strong> studies on teacher burnout, academic achievement,intelligence, and student psychosocial stress. She and her husband,Sanford Nidich, are co-authors <strong>of</strong> the book, Growing Up Enlightened.Ronald L. Zigler, Ed.D., is associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> educational psychologyat Penn State <strong>University</strong>, Abington. Dr. Zigler received his doctoratefrom the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Cincinnati in foundations <strong>of</strong> education. Hehas published extensively in the field <strong>of</strong> philosophy <strong>of</strong> education andeducational psychology, especially in the area <strong>of</strong> moral education. PreviouslyDr. Zigler taught courses at <strong>Maharishi</strong> <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Managementand Grand View College.296
