Why did Jesus say deathwould not prevail? What did Christ say to Peter? “ 19 AndI will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” Peterreceived a special commission which the other Apostlesdid not receive. It was because he recognized that Christwas The Son of God.Christ told him, “ 19 I will give you the keys to the kingdomof heaven: and whatsoever you shall bind on earth shallbe bound in heaven: and whatsoever you shall loose onearth shall be loosed in heaven.” What does that mean?It means that God commissioned Peter to open the wayinto His kingdom for The Gentiles. He had the keys. Peterconverted the first Gentile. Christ had Peter (not Paul)convert the first Gentile. Peter obtained the key to unlockthe door to The Kingdom of God for The Gentiles. Peter,The Apostle whom God used in Acts 10, remembered thevision of all the unclean animals which came to him threedifferent times.God repeatedly told Peter to eat by saying, “Don’t take
