Therefore,they were under its curse which was death (Galatians3:10-11).The Law of Moses was given to bring a person to repentance.Here, you have The Old Covenant biblically interpretingitself. Because Israel had a carnal heart and keptsinning, The Old Covenant was given to make them understandthat they could not become righteous by their ownhuman effort. That was the only reason God allowed Israelto live. God gave them The Law to force them to havea change of heart (Romans 5:20). Every time they sinned,The Law of Moses required an array of bondage (Greek,ergon – “works,” “drudgery” or “deeds”) to perform. Everythingin the added Law of Moses was designed to showhow unrepentant and incapable they were of keeping TheLaw. Every detail of their life was spelled out to showwhat was right and what was wrong.Finally, The Law of Moses was to bring them to Christthrough true repentance (Romans 5:20). This Law wastruly a schoolmaster to bring them to Christ (Galatians3:24). As long as they performed everything The Law required,they received the blessings of a long life in the landthat God had given them. In addition, they also gainedprosperity (Deuteronomy 5:33).Fault With The Law?Many do not realize that The Old Covenant (Law of Moses)
