358 God’s Puzzle Solvedchurch who desired to be teachers of The Law. There weremany converted Jews, including The Pharisees, who werezealous for The Law (Acts 21:20). Paul said that thesepeople did not understand the purpose of The Law (I Timothy1:7-10). Remember, this Added Law was a schoolmasterthat was only intended to bring them (from yet anotherdirection) to Christ. Very clearly, Paul explained why Godadded The Law of Moses. “Knowing this, that the law is notmade for a righteous man [once baptized you are righteousthrough Christ], but for the lawless and disobedient, for theungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderersof fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers”(Verse 9).The Law was added because people were sinners and unrepentant. The Added Law, The Law of Moses, was includedas a burden to bring them to Christ. There is great significanceregarding the tablets of The Ten Commandmentsbeing the only items in The Ark of The Covenant. Theonly way you can receive mercy is by letting God (throughChrist) write The Ten Commandments in your heart. Godwrote The Ten Commandments on stone to illustrate howthey were receiving this Added Law of Moses because oftheir unrepentant, stone-like hearts. Paul stated that Goddoes not want you to keep The Letter of The Law writtenin stone (unrepentant) but in the fleshly tables of yourheart (II Corinthians 3:3). This is repentance and one’sheart (desire) becomes loving toward God and His creation. The Added Law only remained until Christ came.Once Christ came, The Law of Moses fulfilled its Godlypurpose of bringing you to Christ. Now, God writes HisLaw (Ten Commandments) and The New Covenant in yourheart (those who repent and receive mercy).
