Remember that The Gospel was alreadypreached to Abraham. Now, something is to be added tothis gospel, “ 2 And he said, Take now your son, your onlyson Isaac, whom you love and get you into the land of Moriah;and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one ofthe mountains which I will tell you of.”Sacrifice Of IsaacAbraham took his son Isaac to a special mountain. Isaaccould have been between 21 to 33 years of age, just asChrist was at His death. No one knows exactly. Isaacasked, “Father, where is the offering?” Abraham said,“Lay down on the altar as the sacrifice.” And Isaac said“Yes, father.” So he laid himself down to be killed. It wasa matter of faith in God. Later, Christ said to His Father,“Yes, Father, not my will be done, but your will be done.”Abraham had to have the faith to believe and trust God.Abraham believed that if he killed Isaac, then Isaac wouldbe immediately resurrected. He trusted God enough toknow that if he gave his only son (as God would give Hisonly Son), then the son would be resurrected. Abrahamunderstood absolutely and believed fully.
