This defines sin (I John 3:4). If onebelieves they need to keep this Law, then they have nothingto do with The New Covenant. No human can keep TheLaw by human effort. Only Christ did that. That is thereason for The New Covenant. A new heart was needed.Since The Law is spiritual (Romans 7:14), it must be keptspiritually. Christians must obey a higher Law which isThe Law of Christ. When you have God’s Holy Spirit,the spirit teaches you right from wrong by changing yourheart. God writes His Ten Commandments in your heart.You know right from wrong by a change of heart and donot need any written Law to tell you. The Law becomeseternal (spiritual) (I John 2:19-21, 27).A Higher DefinitionChristians live according to a higher definition of sin, justas has been written in I John 5:17, which states, “All unrighteousnessis sin.” In The New Covenant, when youdesire someone else’s goods, you are guilty of coveting.When you hate your brother, you are guilty of murder.You see a much higher standard than that provided bythe written Law.
