The Spirit Versus The Letter375“Christ – In You” is God’s work. Once The Law brings youto Christ and you keep it spiritually (a change of nature),then The Law is eternally “In You.”What Was LostWhen Adam and Eve were in The Garden of Eden or paradise, they lost their chance to eat from The Tree of Life(Eternal Life). When God expelled them, two cherubimwere placed at the entrance so they could not return totake fruit from The Tree of Life.Genesis 3:15 gives a great promise. It shows, from the beginning, from the seed of Adam and Eve, a Savior wouldcome to restore what had been lost. Satan would eventuallybe defeated. Paul said that The Law (“Nomos” – Torah)was a shadow (prophecy) about The Messiah and howHe would restore The Tree of Life and paradise (Hebrews10:1-2). The Torah, therefore, shows the way that Christ,The Messiah, would come through the promise made toAbraham from the seed of Jacob. God changed Jacob’sname to “Israel.” Jacob’s twelve children became knownas The Nation of Israel. These Israelites were led by Mosesfrom Egypt to The Promised Land. They were unrepentantand rebellious. This attitude began right afterthe first time He spoke to them directly. So, God had to give them The Old Covenant, which wasnot the same as the promise made to Abraham. This Covenanthad The Added Law or The Law of Moses. This wasbecause they kept sinning. This Law of Moses was addedto The Ten Commandments and The Torah. However, thiswas only temporary – in order to bring them to Christ.
