The True Gospel223Christ’s (Matthew 6:33). Every religious argument concernswhat you do or don’t do and it is all based uponwhat seems right in a person’s own eyes.Fatherless And WidowsJames says very plainly that if you want to be a Christianwith pure religion (which is undefiled and not corrupted),then you must “visit the fatherless and widows.”So, a Christian’s obligation is to take care of the orphansand widows (they have no inheritance). Many widows andorphans have no one to lean upon. Paul was told to rememberthe poor; this is true Christian work. This is aphysical activity that a Christian must do. The words, “intheir affliction,” apply to those who do not have their needscared for. It goes on, “and to keep himself unspotted fromthe world.” As a Christian, to show true Christianity, youmust control your mouth. Stop judging people and stopaccusing others. Be forgiving, as Christ was. Take careof the poor. Don’t steal or covet. Don’t be idolatrous anddon’t kill. Keep yourself from sinning. That is it. Thereare no other physical religious requirements. There are noother works. Ultimately, agàpè (love) fulfills all of God’sworks.Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running and kneeled to him and askedhim, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inheriteternal life?Christ was asked a very significant question, “ 17 What mustI do to inherit eternal life?” Christ said, “Keep the commandmentsand do not sin.” Do you believe Jesus?
