Is God Real?19Biblically, God tells you about the invisible things that discloseHis power. When Jesus Christ was talking to a Samaritanwoman about the worship of God, she stated thatSamaritans worship God in Mount Gerizim, while TheJews worship God in Jerusalem. Jesus Christ told thisSamaritan woman that “ 23 the hour comes and now is whenthe true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit andin truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him.” Why?“ 24 God is a Spirit.”What Is Spirit?As used in The Old Testament, the word “Spirit,” in Hebrew,is “ruah” which means “strong wind.” In The NewTestament, the word in Greek “pneuma” is used (fromwhich you get the word “pneumatic”). It also means “wind,”but it is infinitely more potent. In Greek, it translates to“a blast of wind” or something forceful and full of energy.So, God is energy just like the wind. In The Netherlands,the people use many windmills. No one can see the energyfrom the wind, but you do see the result just as you see theresults of light. It is remarkable that wind has the powerto make electricity, to turn on light bulbs and to run allsorts of equipment and machinery. Spirit is not a vapor.It is not a smoke-like appearance.
