Now in New Jerusalem, when speaking aboutthe wall He says, “but you shall call your walls Salvationand your gates Praise.”It is very important to know who will be permitted to gothrough the gates. In this “world tomorrow,” which is TheKingdom of God, what is the purpose of the gates? Youmight ask, “What is the purpose of the walls of this city?”Isaiah 62:1-4 1 For Zion’s sake will I not hold mypeace and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, untilthe righteousness thereof go forth as brightness andthe salvation thereof as a lamp that burns. 2 And theGentiles shall see your righteousness and all kings yourglory: and you shall be called by a new name, whichthe mouth of the Lord shall name. 3 You shall also bea crown of glory in the hand of the Lord and a royaldiadem in the hand of your God. 4 You shall no morebe termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any morebe termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibahand your land Beulah; for the Lord delights inyou and your land shall be married.This is the beginning of the discourse about Jerusalem.The process of Salvation continues. There is the brightness.The purpose of New Jerusalem is to be a light forSalvation. It will continue until righteousness goes forth.New Jerusalem’s righteousness is Zion’s righteousness.“ 2 And all kings [will see] your glory: and you shall be calledby a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.”When there is a new heaven and new earth, they will receivea new name (Revelation 22).
