On the outside,you look very religious. You go to church and try tokeep the days and the months Holy in the best way youcan. You pray over the food, even in a restaurant, for theworld to see your piety. Christ said, “Your left hand is notto know what your right hand is doing.”Don’t advertise your religious deeds by being so pious.When you fast, anoint yourself and look as if you are notfasting. When you give to the poor, make sure no oneknows about it. When you pray, do it in a closet. This isanother distinction. This is the difference between manmadeChristianity and those who want to follow Christ.One method has human works with traditions, just asthough one is acting in a religious play. The Pharisees andSadducees had their traditional oral laws and The Law ofMoses, which also had works. The other method is to followGod who will lead you to Salvation into The Kingdomof God.
