In Genesis2, God had Adam fall asleep and then removed a part ofhim. The English word is “rib.” The Hebrew word means“side.” God took a bone out of Adam’s side and createdEve. Yet, she was Adam. They were not two. They weretruly one. Hence, they did not need to be married. Theywere already one flesh. “Wherefore they are no more two[they aren’t two] but one flesh.
