Many bookshave been written about what keeps married people together.One book declares that you must be compatible.Other books claim that man and woman stay together becauseof their passion or emotions (eros) for each other.Why Accept Each Other?Another reason why a person accepts someone else is becauseof “philia.” You seem to be compatible and you liketo do the same things. Because you enjoy doing the samethings, you accept each other without wanting the other tochange. So, it seems men and women marry on the basisof two points: 1) passion and/or 2) compatibility. But,that is not what it takes to make a marriage last for life. Ittakes God’s agàpè love.
