14 THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES<br />

Permitted Actions<br />

Non invasive theatrical interpretation<br />

throughout all areas of OPH for a sole actor<br />

or small group (up to five people).<br />

Interactive theatrical interpretation using<br />

replica fabric, furniture and objects.<br />

Use of personal props and costumes<br />

which do not extend outside the direct<br />

control of the actor/interpreter.<br />

Use of costumes and props of a larger nature in the<br />

Landmark Zone is permitted, providing the Action does<br />

not occur closer than 2m to built heritage fabric.<br />

Moving and storing light weight, personal, props<br />

and costumes from performance places to<br />

designated storage areas; storing in containers<br />

specifically for the use of storing objects and<br />

stored at least 1m away from objects and walls<br />

Cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, windows<br />

provided it is carried out in accordance with<br />

Housekeeping Permitted Action Schedule.<br />

Not Permitted Actions<br />

Using props or costumes not examined/quarantined/<br />

fumigated/approved by Heritage staff.<br />

Use of props and costumes which prohibit the actors/<br />

interpreters from a clear vision and movement around<br />

the spaces (note that the use of the large ‘heads’ is<br />

permitted provided that the wearer / user<br />

is appropriately supervised at all times).<br />

Use of costume or props in the Landmark Zone<br />

if the Action may cause a prop to impact on<br />

heritage fabric (such as juggling, stilt walking).<br />

Storing any props or costumes against heritage fabric.<br />

Storing of large objects wider or higher than 125m,<br />

which may easily scrape doorways or corridors.<br />

Cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, windows<br />

without reference to the Housekeeping<br />

Permitted Action Schedule and prior<br />

consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />

15 REPORTING DAMAGE<br />

With close attention and documentation of the location and condition of all heritage fabric and<br />

items before an exhibition or interpretation, comparisons can be made with the condition of<br />

heritage fabric and items after an exhibition or interpretation. It is important to document small<br />

damage and sailing to assist in future management of items and in planning future events at<br />

OPH. More serious damage should likewise be documented and the following steps followed.<br />

■■immediate notice be given to the supervisor of the activity and a written<br />

report provided by the supervisor to the Manager, OPH Heritage<br />

■■Manager, OPH Heritage will then decide the appropriate remedial Action.<br />

■■photographs should be taken by Heritage staff.<br />

In the case of spot soiling / damage:<br />
