The following table identifies a number of potential Actions associated<br />
with addressing damage from deliberate misbehaviour.<br />
Permitted Actions<br />
Installing stable, non-abrasive, clean type of<br />
hard or soft clear protective furniture or flooring<br />
cover that is removable and does not require<br />
fixing to heritage fabric to keep it in place.<br />
Cleaning of heritage fabric to remove foreign<br />
deposits provided it is carried out in accordance<br />
with the Housekeeping Permitted Action Schedule.<br />
4.8 MOVING FURNITURE, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, TROLLEYS, WHEELCHAIRS, PRAMS <strong>AND</strong> BAGS<br />
This impact can be caused by building occupants, visitors or contractors<br />
and is usually inadvertent, due mostly to carelessness.<br />

fabric. This includes the use of any form of fixing<br />

Permitted Actions Schedule and prior<br />
consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />
Repairing gouges, scratches, tears or splits<br />
to heritage surfaces/items without prior<br />
consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />
Physical damage due to bumping, scraping and knocking<br />
Floor surfaces - carpet, rubber, polished wood<br />
Wall surfaces - paint, render, plasterboard, textile covered<br />
Scratches, dents, breaks<br />
The following table identifies a number of potential Actions associated with addressing damage from moving<br />
furniture, tools, equipment, trolleys, wheelchairs, prams, electric scooters, guide dogs and bags.<br />
Permitted Actions<br />
Carrying of small bags, and placement of small<br />
bags on laps or floors, NOT on furniture.<br />
Movement of visitors behind roped areas with the<br />
consent or accompanied by OPH staff member.<br />
Moving heritage items provided it is carried<br />
out in accordance with the Housekeeping<br />
Permitted Action Schedule.<br />
Movement and temporary replacement of the<br />
following heritage furniture for the purposes<br />
of education programs by two people:<br />
■■The Chairman of Committee’s chair<br />
■■The Clerk’s chair<br />
■■The Prime Minister’s chair<br />
■■The Leader of the Opposition’s chair<br />
Moving a maximum number of 30 (non-heritage)<br />
stacking function chairs or one table within heritage<br />
spaces at any one time without dragging.<br />
Moving non-heritage items that are no more than<br />
1.25m in any dimension within heritage spaces<br />
without dragging. This may involve breaking<br />
down any larger or bulkier non-heritage items<br />
into manageable parts where possible.<br />
Not Permitted Actions<br />
Carrying of back packs or other similar<br />
large bags within heritage spaces.<br />
Unaccompanied movement of<br />
visitors behind roped areas.<br />
Moving heritage items without reference to the<br />
Housekeeping Permitted Actions Schedule and<br />
prior consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />
Regular movement and/or replacement of<br />
heritage furniture in the Chambers, except<br />
as except as specifically permitted.<br />
Moving or stacked chair trolleys on sensitive carpeted<br />
areas without placing plastic floor runner under<br />
path. Storing stacked chair trolleys in carpeted<br />
areas without masonite sheet under trolley.<br />
Dragging excessively large or bulky<br />
items within heritage spaces.
