Permitted Actions<br />

Repositioning of movable furniture or other portable<br />

items away from direct sources of UV damage<br />

within the same room provided it is carried out with<br />

approval and supervision from OPH Heritage staff.<br />

Moving heritage items provided it is carried<br />

out in accordance with the Contractor<br />

Permitted Action Schedule.<br />

Moving a maximum number of 30 (non-heritage)<br />

stacking function chairs or one table within heritage<br />

spaces at any one time without dragging.<br />

Moving non-heritage items that are no more than<br />

1.25m in any dimension within heritage spaces<br />

without dragging. This may involve breaking<br />

down any larger or bulkier non-heritage items<br />

into manageable parts where possible.<br />

Moving of trolleys and other mobile equipment<br />

across heritage floor surfaces provided that they<br />

are fitted with rubber or pneumatic wheels.<br />

Removal of scuff marks from heritage floors/<br />

wall surfaces and door cases caused by moving<br />

furniture, equipment, etc in accordance with<br />

the Contractor Permitted Action Schedule.<br />

8.5 USE OF EQUIPMENT<br />

Not Permitted Actions<br />

Repositioning of movable furniture or other<br />

portable items without prior consultation<br />

with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />

Moving heritage items without reference to the<br />

Contractor Permitted Action Schedule and prior<br />

consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />

Moving or stacked chair trolleys on sensitive carpeted<br />

areas without placing plastic floor runner under<br />

path. Storing stacked chair trolleys in carpeted<br />

areas without masonite sheet under trolley.<br />

Dragging excessively large or bulky<br />

items within heritage spaces.<br />

Equipment introduced into a heritage space may be a potential physical and fire risk.<br />

Issue<br />

Physical damage due to knocking, bumping<br />

Fire risk due to electrical fault<br />

Fabric most at risk<br />

Floor coverings, plasterwork, polished wood, textiles<br />

Moving of trolleys and other mobile equipment fitted<br />

with solid wheels/casters across heritage floor surfaces.<br />

Removal of scuff marks from heritage floors/<br />

wall surfaces and door cases without reference<br />

to the Contractor Permitted Action Schedule or<br />

prior consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />

Repairing gouges, scratches, tears or splits<br />

to heritage surfaces/items without prior<br />

consultation with the OPH Heritage staff.<br />

Permitted Actions<br />

Contractor equipment may be placed on heritage<br />

floor spaces providing the equipment is placed<br />

on protective boards or carpet squares.<br />

Electrical equipment may be brought into OPH<br />

providing it has a current portable appliance<br />

test certificate (the onus to achieve this is<br />

placed on the contractor / supplier, except where<br />

the equipment is the property of OPH).<br />

Not Permitted Actions<br />

Placement of contractor equipment<br />

directly on heritage floors<br />

Use of electrical equipment with frayed or worn cables.<br />

Ladders or other equipment leaning on heritage<br />

surfaces without buffering material (eg. felt).
