A splitter box is constructed on the end of the solids contact basins to distribute the<br />

flow between the existing and proposed final settling tanks<br />

Construct four additional final clarifiers at 134-foot diameter each<br />

Conversion of chlorine gas disinfection to hypochlorite disinfection and construction of<br />

an additional chlorine contact basin<br />

Construction of a new effluent PS (200 MGD)<br />

Existing PS will be abandoned<br />

New PS will consist of vertical turbine pumps mounted on a concrete slab. Discharge<br />

piping and flow metering will be above grade.<br />

Construction of parallel effluent pipeline and river outfall structure<br />

Construction of odor control for the primary clarifiers effluent weirs and the existing<br />

solids processing building.<br />

Preliminary Master <strong>Plan</strong> Improvements<br />

Several Master <strong>Plan</strong> improvements were outlined in the Draft Wastewater Master <strong>Plan</strong><br />

(CH2M HILL, May 2008). The following are the principal project elements as modified<br />

during the project design.<br />

Secondary electrical source consisting of on-site engine/generators<br />

Improvements to the existing solids thickening and dewatering facilities including new<br />

thickened sludge mixing tanks<br />

Repair and improvements to existing anaerobic digesters including a new sludge<br />

heating system utilizing digester gas and hot water boilers<br />

Rehabilitation of existing buildings<br />

Construction of a plant SCADA system<br />

Construction of new laboratory and administration buildings<br />

Total Construction Bid Amount for the Wet Weather Improvements is $92,200,000.<br />

Total Construction Bid Amount for the Preliminary Master <strong>Plan</strong> Improvements is<br />

$15,000,000.<br />

Total Construction Bid Amount for the entire project is $107,200,000.<br />

Scheduled Design Appropriation Year was 2009.<br />

Scheduled Construction Appropriation Year is 2011.<br />

Design is On-Going.<br />
