Sometimes laziness pays. Hiking the Omalo-Shatili and Roshka-Juta sections
of Georgia’s magnificent Transcaucasian Trail is quite feasible alone. But
Jane and I don’t like carrying bags. Engaging a horseman-guide for each
section seems well worth the remarkably modest expense. And we get much more
than we bargained for from two remarkable if utterly different characters.
