Epic Hikes of the World ( PDFDrive )

Wthis very region that I vowed to search out once I reached the albergue
(hostel) that afternoon. There was no one ahead of me on the dusty path and as I
walked I listened to the thud of my boots on the hard ground, my rucksack swishing
against my shorts and the distant rumble of traffic on the highway.
Turning a corner, I saw Clara and Silvia, two Italian pilgrims (people walking the
Camino), sitting under a tree and sharing a huge bunch of grapes. ‘Want some? A
farmer gave them to us’, Clara called out. I threw down my rucksack, sat down
beside them, took off my walking boots and massaged my hot, aching feet.
