KAYAKING THE COAST TRACKThe Coast Track is a cracking walk, but Abel Tasman National Park’s shores canalso be explored from the cockpit of a sea kayak. Several operators offer combinedhiking and paddling adventures, where it’s possible to kayak across translucentlagoons and between bays, before swapping blade for boots and walking back.Marahau to Anchorage Bay is a popular paddling section, with walkers wanderingonward usually to Bark Bay or Onetahuti before catching a water taxi back.My dilemma – to take a dip or dawdle on – begins just around the corner, inAnapai Bay, one of the most beautiful bitemarks found along this wholesensationally serrated shoreline. I don’t hesitate long.
