Minimum Lateral Force for Design of Wall Form

Bracing Systems

The lateral pressure of freshly placed concrete on wall forms is carried

by the ties. However, the wall forms must be braced adequately to

resist any eccentric loads or lateral forces due to wind. The minimum

lateral force applied at the top of wall forms is shown in Table 5-7. The

force may act in either direction as illustrated in Figure 5-16.

Bracing for Wall Forms

To ensure safety and alignment, forms must be adequately braced to

resist any lateral movement. Braces must be securely attached at both

ends to prevent displacement and rotation. Figure 5-17 shows the
