available for use in constructing this type of floor system. Several

lengths are available to permit the forms to be used with slabs having

variable dimensions.

As shown in Figure 12-4, the forms are supported at the desired

height by nails driven through the vertical surfaces of the forms into

the joist soffits. The use of these forms permits the construction of

concrete slabs with considerable variety in the dimensions of the

joists.

One advantage of using this type of form is that the forms or pans

may be stripped as soon as the concrete over the forms has gained the

necessary strength, without disturbing the joist soffits and supporting

shores. This feature may permit an earlier reuse of this type of

pan than is possible with the flange-type pans.

Ceco Longforms

These forms are used with unsupported lengths of up to 12 ft between

beam tees or bridging joists. Because the Longforms must be cut to

suit the span length of the structure, there are no standard lengths.
