The removing, hoisting, relocating the deck forms, placing the

reinforcing steel, and installing the electrical and plumbing components

may be performed easily, which permits quick placement of

concrete for a slab.

The hardware and equipment for flying deck form systems may

be purchased or rented on a per-job basis. If desired, technical assistance

is provided by the supplier. The information that follows

describes and illustrates one of the systems that may be purchased

or rented.

Form-Eze Flying Deck Forms

The deck forms supplied by this company are modules consisting of

two or more parallel steel trusses (with diagonal steel braces between

the trusses) that support steel joists and plywood decking. Deck modules

frequently are supplied in lengths in excess of 100 ft and in

widths of up to 30 ft. The actual sizes of the modules are limited only

by the bay sizes in the structure and the capacity of the crane that will

hoist the modules.

Figure 17-4 illustrates a simple arrangement of three trusses

with steel joists supporting plywood decking and a catwalk with

railing located outside the building slab for use by the workers on

the project.
