System. (Source: Ellis Construction Specialties, Ltd.)

To install walers, each waler is loosely placed across a row of

quick-locks at a tilted angle. The wale is then struck with a hammer

to set it firmly into the quick-lock brackets.

A 4 × 4 or double 2 × 4 waler should be used at the top of forms, if

the forms are to be stacked. Strongbacks should be placed every 6 to 8

ft for form rigidity. Panels for subsequent lifts are placed by a worker

on a platform supported by scaffold brackets. These panels can be

attached to the strongback with a strongback clamp.
