The allowable working load capacity of trusses, individually or joined, is

2,000 lb per lin ft. Lightweight aluminum joists make up the basic platform

of the flying table. Each joist has a wide top flange with a standard

2 × 3 wood nailer that is flush with the top surface, as illustrated in

Figure 7-15(b). A range of joist lengths is available to fit a particular job.

Generally, a table can be stripped, flown, and reset in about 15 to

20 minutes, depending on the job conditions. Preassembled truss modules

are delivered to the job site. Flying tables are placed into position

and set to grade by adjustment of the extension legs and screw jacks.

Fillers are placed in the column strips to complete the deck form. The

concrete is poured, and once the slab has attained adequate strength,

the table is stripped and lowered onto rollout units. The table is slowly
