The Military Context of the Fall of Srebrenica
Defense Counsel for Radislav Krstic, Nenad Petrusic, read a passage from
Halilovic’s 1997 book, Lukava Strategija (“A Cunning Strategy”). According to
Halilovic’s published account, “the Chetniks entered Srebrenica on the 11th of
July, 1995, with three tanks, two transporters, APCs, and about 200 Chetniks”—
‘Chetnik’ of course being a derogatory term for Serb fighters used by Muslims and
Croats. In his own voice, Halilovic explained that his information was based on
David Rohde’s book, Endgame, an article from Dani, a Bosnian Muslim journal
titled “How They Gave Over Srebrenica,” and various interviews with people
