1 This chapter analyzes coverage of <strong>Srebrenica</strong> in four U.K. broadsheet newspapers:<br />

<strong>The</strong> Times, <strong>The</strong> Daily Telegraph, <strong>The</strong> Independent, and <strong>The</strong> Guardian. Three<br />

periods are examined: early July 1995; late July - October 1995; and January - December<br />

2001. Articles were acquired for each of the periods specified by electronically<br />

searching the ProQuest newspapers database for articles with<br />

‘<strong>Srebrenica</strong>’ in their title.<br />
