____ A broad-growing shrub, reaching about man´s height, with<br />

branches spreading horizontally; leaves vivid green, 5 to 7 cm<br />

long; flowers white, abundant, borne in short, dense panicles<br />

along the shoots, apearing in June/July - the only hardy cultivar<br />

with lovely, ornamental flowers. K. Zone 6a.<br />

ovalifolium (= medium) - California Privet<br />

____ An erect, upright-growing, much-branched shrub, 3 to 5 m tall,<br />

semi- to evergreen; leaves shiny dark green above - tolerant to<br />

pruning and used extensively for hedging. H, St. Zone 7a.<br />

____ An erect, upright-growing cultivar, 3 to 5 m tall with side branches<br />

short and spreading horizontally; leaves broad, elliptic to oval,<br />

deep green above and with a slight metallic gloss, lasting almost<br />

to early spring, turning purple-bronze in winter - an important<br />

plant for hedging. H, St. Zone 5b.<br />

____ An especially hardy, virus-free, Danish selection; differs too in its<br />

pleasant growth, sturdier branching and especially the long-lasting<br />
